Louis Vuitton gets twisted and Chanel loves a smoky eye
At the Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2011 runways show, Redken creative consultant Guido echoed the Oriental details in Marc Jacobs collection by pulling the hair into a modern take on the chignon. With an exaggerated part and eye covering swoop of hair, the look from the front was sexy and mysterious. The back was pulled up by twisting the hair into itself and tucked in at the nape of the neck. Perhaps the twist is the new braid? Here is how Guido got the hair to sweep up and stay put:
4. Beginning on the right side of the head, take the longer portion of the section that just covered the eye and begin twisting the hair inward, adding more hair as you twist and create the twist in a diagonal shape toward the nape of the neck.
5. On the left side, begin twisting hair inward adding more hair as you twist diagonally toward the nape of the neck.
6. Once the two sides meet, femmes moncler, twist the hair into itself and secure with pins.
7. Finish with Redken Forceful 23 super strength finishing spray for hold.
At Chanel, the statement feature was the eye and this time it was a modern take on a smoky look. Peter Philips, global creative director of Chanel makeup, was inspired by the glow found in black, white and gray pearls and the black, white and green French garden setting created at the Grand Palais for the runway show. A thin black line was also drawn down the middle part of model's hair, further emphasizing the intense black color on the eyes.
To get the deep smoky effect on the eye, Philips used Les 4 Ombres Quadra Eye Shadow in Regard Perl (Spring 2011 Makeup Collection, available in January), Le Crayon Khol Intense Eye Pencil in Noir and Le Crayon Yeux Precision Eye Definer in Noir.
Looks like the focus will be off of the red pout everyone is sporting this fall and onto the eyes for an intensely dark look.
